Kawneer OptiQ™ Ultra Thermal Window Honored In Architectural Record’s 2012 Advertising Excellence Awards

NORCROSS, GA – Kawneer Company, Inc., an Alcoa business and the leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum products and systems for commercial construction, was recently recognized by Architectural Record as a winner in the magazine’s annual Advertising Excellence Awards. The winning advertisement was a part of Kawneer’s OptiQ™ Ultra Thermal Window launch and was featured in the category of Single Page Advertisement.
The result of a pioneering partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the AA®4325 series – the first OptiQ™ Window – reaches a new level in thermal performance due to the unique features integrated into its design. Built-in thermal intelligence makes it the industry’s smartest window. Kawneer wanted to create a visual portrayal of the window’s intelligence and superior thermal capabilities that would attract the architecture community and emphasize the benefits of the new window. The advertisement’s depiction of the brain with the separation of the left and right brain emphasize the product’s ability to not only enhance aesthetics and design capabilities, but the intelligence and engineering capacity used to create OptiQ™ Ultra Thermal Window’s groundbreaking features. Judges noted the unique design approach and commended the advertisement’s simplicity, stating that it was “clean and easy to understand.”
Advertisements qualifying for the award were published the first three months of 2012 in Architectural Record, in the January/February issue of Greensource, or ran online during the same time period. Six leading architects from around the U.S. made up the 2012 final selection committee. More than 150 ads were judged in two categories: content and graphic design.
