Expanding Capabilities in Greater Toronto Area and Montreal Upgrades to Equipment and Technology Increase Flexibility to Respond to Customer Needs
NORCROSS, GA — Kawneer Company, Inc., a leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum products and systems for the commercial construction industry, announced today that it plans to combine its current Scarborough facility and Mississauga Service Center into a new and expanded Fabrication Center by the end of Q4 2010. Additionally, new fabrication capabilities will be added to its Montreal Service Center. These significant upgrades will provide customers in Central and Eastern Canada with a broader range of resources, as well as increased production, resulting in shorter lead times and enhanced quality.
Kawneer’s dedication to innovation drove the facility’s enhancements; many of which are related to improvements in technology, allowing information to flow more quickly and increasing the speed of accuracy. This will give Kawneer the flexibility to better meet the demand of today’s market with shorter lead times, as well as future demand when the market improves, and to do so while remaining cost competitive.
“This significant investment in state-of-the-art fabrication equipment and technology will greatly improve our flexibility and capability to service the needs of the Central and Eastern Canadian markets in two convenient locations and is a reflection of Kawneer’s commitment to the Canadian market and growing its business with Canadian customers,” said Tom Szematowicz, Director of Service Centers for Kawneer North America.
