Slider Available in High Performance and Hurricane Resistant Versions Offering A Combination of Features Ideal for High-End Condominiums, Hotels and Apartments

NORCROSS, GA – Kawneer Company, Inc., the leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum building products and systems for commercial construction, today announced its new AA®3200 ISOWEB® Sliding Door, designed to meet the challenges of thermal, coastal and hurricane resistant conditions. With contemporary hardware, clean sightlines, sound resistance and endless configuration options, AA®3200 ISOWEB® Sliding Door is ideal for high-end condominiums, hotels and apartments.  Available in both High Performance (AA®3200HP) and Hurricane Resistant (AA®3200IR) versions, AA®3200 ISOWEB® Sliding Door complements Kawneer’s portfolio of thermal solutions and products for the entire building.

The effects of weather – heavy rains, high winds, blizzards or hurricane conditions – are continuous considerations when designing and constructing buildings. AA®3200 ISOWEB® Sliding Door is designed to stand up against the elements, providing building occupants with advanced comfort and performance. With Kawneer’s high-performance ISOWEB® thermal break, AA®3200 ISOWEB® Sliding Door meets current energy codes, increases end user comfort and provides capabilities for a dual finished product. For enhanced STC and OITC (sound resistance) performance, the slider accommodates both 1-5/16-inch insulated/laminated glass, and 1-inch insulated glass for improved thermal performance. A larger wheel stainless steel tandem roller with precision ground sealed bearings provides smooth operation of panels and maximum protection against coastal elements such as wind-blown sand and salt water. AA®3200 ISOWEB® Sliding Door has been tested to meet North American performance standards, including air, water, structural, thermal, condensation and large and small missile impact.

With its many fabrication and installation advantages and high-performance features, AA®3200 ISOWEB® Sliding Door can be tailored to meet a variety of project requirements. Fixed lites, sliding panels and sub-sash panels of AA®3200 ISOWEB® Sliding Door incorporate removable stops to make the re-glazing process as easy as the initial glazing process. Panel disassembly is not required for glass replacement. Coped, screw spline joinery keeps fabrication and assembly simple, and the sliding panel and sub-sash fixed panel can be pre-glazed with a common glass size for quicker glazing and installation.

For greater aesthetics, AA®3200 ISOWEB® Sliding Door can span slab-to-slab up to 10 feet tall, offering occupants open, unobstructed views. Various mullion and reinforcement options also provide additional performance and design flexibility. A standard 2-¼-inch sill, with 15-psf water performance, provides a smaller sightline at the interior/exterior transition. Along with standard openings, additional fixed panels can be stacked via a common mullion to achieve even greater expanses of glass. AA®3200 ISOWEB® Sliding Door’s unique beveled profiles create architectural shadow lines and allow a commercial product to receive mid- to high-rise residential acceptance. Finish options for AA®3200 ISOWEB® Sliding Door include anodized, painted and solvent-free powder coated in a variety of colors.
