Boulder, Colorado, USA
Limelight Boulder was designed with community and the natural environment in mind. Combining lodging and a variety of communal spaces, the six-story hotel offers 225,000 square feet of guestrooms, meeting areas and more to support both students and visitors at University of Colorado Boulder.
The project incorporates a wide range of Kawneer aluminum facade products to ensure occupant comfort, including curtain wall, storefront framing, entrances and operable windows. The facade includes tall glass spans achieved with 1600UT System™1 Curtain Wall and MetroView® FG 501T Window Wall systems, providing natural daylight and visual connection with the surrounding campus and mountains. Additionally, each guest room features operable OptiQ® AA®5450 Series Windows integrated into the window wall system.
The all-electric building follows the University of Colorado Boulder’s progressive sustainability and energy usage guidelines, targeting LEED® Gold certification. Alongside Kawneer’s high-performance curtain wall and window wall systems, 350T and 500T Insulpour® Thermal Entrances and Trifab® VersaGlaze® 451T Storefront Framing System create a thermally efficient building envelope. These solutions help the hotel reduce energy consumption and support the sustainability goals of the architect and the university.
