St. Louis, Missouri, USA
To celebrate its 100th year of serving the community of St. Louis, Missouri, the historic Powell Hall was revitalized through a 64,000-square-foot expansion. This addition to the timeless home of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra welcomes patrons and musicians with three stories of arched windows leading into a modern lobby and music center.
Kawneer’s Clearwall® Curtain Wall System and 1600UT System™2 Curtain Wall create the project’s impressive facade. The unique design provides visual connection for both patrons inside the music center and passersby, sparking interest in the venue by showcasing what lies inside. Beyond delivering striking aesthetics, these aluminum curtain wall systems achieve high thermal performance to provide occupant comfort year-round. Further, as St. Louis is situated close to two seismic zones, the seismic-tested Clearwall® Curtain Wall System and 1600UT System™2 Curtain Wall offer critical occupant protection in this region with known seismic considerations.
Kawneer architectural aluminum solutions play an important role in modernizing and optimizing Powell Hall for the future, enabling the building to provide safety, comfort, and joy to its local community.
